Eastbury Dental Practice

This treatment is used for patients who no longer want to wear dentures that can move or slip out of place, and also for patients whose natural teeth are giving up.

With All-on-Four, several titanium screws are placed into the jaw bone at one time. These act as the base for a permanent prosthesis that can replace an entire row of missing teeth and is screwed or cemented into place.

For some patients, this treatment can be completed in just one visit to Eastbury Dental.

Patients who have undergone this treatment have reported a huge improvement in their quality of life, confidence, smile and self-esteem, as they no longer have to be conscious about their dentures being stable.

Treatment

  • When you visit Eastbury Dental, you will come in for an initial consultation and discuss your smile concerns and queries with Dr Shah. He will go through options for dentures, bridges and implants and the advantages and disadvantages of each. If the tooth has an infection, it will need to be removed. If this is the case, we will allow 6-8 weeks for your body to remove the infection and do its first stage of healing.
  • You will then have a 3D CT scan to measure the location and amount of bone in your mouth. This will then determine whether you are suitable for dental implant treatment and whether you will need bone grafting or sinus lifting.
  • After that, you will receive your personal treatment plan. This is when your treatment date will be set! If sedation is requested, surgery will usually take place between 8-12 weeks.
  • 2-3 days before treatment, the sedationist will contact you to talk through any questions or queries you may have, and they will run you through the itinerary for the day.
  • This is when your treatment will be done! You will be greeted by our friendly receptionists and escorted to surgery. Sedation will then be administered, and then Dr Shah will complete your treatment, and you will walk away with your new smile!
  • Two weeks after the surgery, you will then have a review with Dr Shah to make sure everything is healing properly, and you will have your stitches removed.
  • After 4-6 months, a secondary procedure may be necessary. We will then begin constructing your crown. 2 weeks after your digital scan appointment, we will fit your crown.

Benefits of All-on-4

  • It is quick and minimally invasive.
  • Long-lasting results.
  • Natural-looking results.
  • Helps the function of the teeth.
  • Immediate results.
  • More cost-effective.
  • Improved social confidence.

Post-implant advice

We recommend a soft diet initially (5-7 days) as you will have a new set of teeth fixed, and it will take time for your mouth to settle and find a comfortable position for eating.

Maintenance

Once your implants have been fitted, it is essential to maintain a good oral hygiene routine to ensure they last for as long as possible.

Your dentist at Eastbury Dental will advise you on how best to care for the new implants. This will include brushing and flossing around the implant using interdental brushes or Superfloss (recommended) twice daily.

Periodic cleaning with Curasept is advised. You will have an implant review visit after the first year. You will also come in every 4-6 months for check-ups and hygiene visits, depending on your risk factors. A lot of our patients decide to join our membership plan for ongoing maintenance, Denplan.

If you believe you may benefit from our implant dentistry treatment, please contact us for more information.

All our implant treatments are available on our finance plans with 0% over 12 months.
